Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for validation and characterization activities including hardware measurement and debug, developing scripts and routines for device configuration, automation and lab instrumentation control, including but not limited to, sampling and real time oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers (BERT), signal analyzers, and power supplies, parsing and analyzing data, and writing reports on the functionality and performance of the device. General requirements will be provided, however, the opportunity to impart hardware skills, programming creativity and experience in coding of the routines, and data analysis techniques is highly encouraged.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Timely delivery of characterization test reports
  • Provide regular project status communication
  • Develop/improve/align to application team best test practices
  • Collaborate with analog/system/digital design engineers, package and PCB engineers, and software engineers to ensure efficient silicon bring-up and early silicon test results

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of lab testing experience using equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, and VNAs
  • 5+ Programming (C#, MatLab, and/or Python) experience
  • 5+ years of statistical data analysis in the semiconductor industry
  • Strong semiconductor knowledge, particularly SerDes device
  • Proven team player with strong communication skills and ability to work under time pressure
  • PHD, MASc., or BASc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree

Assets

  • Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity concepts is an asset
  • Programming experience, particularly in the development of statistical analytical toolsets for the purpose of automation is strongly desired
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility  (Gauge R&R) is an asset
  • Experience with SAS JMP software, or equivalent, is an asset
  • Database knowledge / experience is desirable but not required
