Senior Test Development Technologist (Job Req. #2021-078)
As a Sr Test Development Technologist, you will work collaboratively to create and develop test plans and suites from the PCBA to the system level. With emphasis on automation, these suites are deployed to the various test stages within the manufacturing facility for product verification, configuration, and data collection. Reporting to the Test Development Manager, this position is located at our Manufacturing and Test facility in Iroquois, ON.

What you will do:
Collaboration and consultation with the Test Development Team and R&D to establish test plans which focus on hardware validation ensuring product meets expected quality and specifications. The goals include test consistency, accuracy, thoroughness, speed, and reuse/adaptation of test tool designs. Partnering with the Mfg-Test Leads and Mfg Support team to optimize a logical and comprehensive production flow for maximum efficiency and quality. Verify and signoff on Engineering Change Orders (ECO) ensuring proper change management to facilitate identification and future support (RMAs). Implement relevant changes to any procedures, scripts or processes and feedback engineering change suggestions that may improve, quality, performance and testability. Provide and maintain support documentation for Test Development and Production teams. Assist and guide Production and RMA (customer returns) technicians in isolating build or design issues. Provide technical support to all levels and stages of manufacturing and advise and make recommendations to management to facilitate better decision making and planning.
What you need to know:
Post-Secondary Education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 3 years in test automation development. Proficiency in electronic theory and applications, with emphasis on digital components such as CPU, FPGA, flash, etc. A solid understanding of JTAG technologies (IEEE 1149.1, 1149.6.), along with associated development tools. Having a good understanding of Networking Protocols, PTP, IGMP Snooping, Multicast, SNMP, QoS, ACL, etc. Experience with scripting and programming languages (i.e.: AutoIt, TCL, Java, C, C++) and Linux experience. Possessing a well-developed analytical, problem solving and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired., with an ability to cope with varying levels of support and documentation.

Talent to cope with varying levels of support and documentation; a self-starter, quick learner and able to work with minimum supervision in meeting schedules. An ability to lift 50 lbs., and to work in a manufacturing environment in an individual workstation, within a moderately noisy setting and have knowledge of Video (SDI, video over IP) and Audi (AES and analogue) standards (SMPTE). Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel to Ottawa location.
