Duties, Responsibilities and Accountability:
- Work with staff and customers to determine design requirements for features, custom functionality, and user interfaces that support specific sales opportunities
- Implement SW solutions and custom product feature developments to address specific sales opportunities
- Work with other members of the team to verify the functionality and impact of the solutions
- Thoroughly self-test all designs and support DevTest & PV – including reviewing test plans to align focus, validating feedback, and debugging/fixing problems as required
- Generate specification & design documentation to support cross functional aspects of the development and NPI process
- Provide ongoing post-delivery support for opportunity-focused features, solutions, and the customer issue resolution
Job Requirements:
Knowledge/Education/Training:
- Knowledge of broadcast studio applications & workflow, especially routing and distribution systems
- Application SW design knowledge and experience in the design of Broadcast Video system configuration, control, and monitoring software, using object-oriented design and related technologies
- Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, and and/or other programming Languages such as C, C++, Python and Java
- Familiarity with languages used in web development such as JavaScript, XML, and HTML
- Experience working with embedded SW and UI design as applied to broadcast routing switcher/enterprise control systems
- Deep Familiarity with broadcast routing control protocols, translations, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with general broadcast and live production principles related system-level troubleshooting
- Familiarity with production system architectures including signal distribution, control interfaces, and end-user applications
- Knowledge of digital video and associated audio standards
- Solid debugging skills & proficiency with typical broadcast test equipment (WFM, Phabrix, O-scope, etc.)
- Ability to accurately estimate task & project durations and work as part of a team towards completion
- Exposure to Agile development methods (especially Scrum)
- Familiarity with various version control solutions such as Git, SVN & CVS
- Excellent Windows computer skills, especially Excel & Visio – VBA scripting knowledge a plus
- B.S. in Engineering and/or 5yrs relevant work experience preferred
